A garden studio for our previous principal.
Toll Cottage - Studio
Our previous principal John Wilks escaped at the magical age of 65 to a cottage by the sea
in south Cornwall and having always felt the need to leave home each morning built himself a studio
overlooking Falmouth Bay. The design may not be the “cool” approach expected of an aging architect but the
extensive hanging, slate hanging and the extravagantly thatched roof relate well to the coastal setting and
cottage. It is referred to locally as Wilks Hobbit Hut.
