New Rail Shop
Brecknell
Willis specialise in the field of electrification/traction for all types of transportation systems
including tramways, metros and railways. They moved to their present site in Chard, Somerset just before the
Second World War to escape the bombing in Bristol. The current building housing the production of their
conductor rails is an original building and is inadequate for their current production requirements. The
scheme completed in September 2011 comprises a steel framed building 90m x 35m and also houses office
accommodation on two floors.
